What does a birth doula actually do?
A doula offers nonmedical emotional, practical and educational support during pregnancy and birth. Your doula works alongside, not instead of, your medical team.
Do you support medicated and C-section births?
Yes. Support is personalized to your preferences and the circumstances of your birth, whether you're planning unmedicated labor, pain medication or a cesarean birth.
Does New Jersey Medicaid cover doula services?
NJ FamilyCare offers doula benefits for eligible members. Exact coverage, provider network participation and authorization rules depend on your plan. We can discuss which questions to ask your insurer.
